Great tips! Even though I never type using heat, I can still apply your type-two tips about starting a bit lower on the strand and curling in the same direction with my foam or rag set curls.
Great idea, Erica. I’d love to see the final look of your hair when you apply this tip. Come back and post a picture!
I think it turned out really well! The bottom photo I managed to snap on the train to work this morning. I do not use styling products, and my hair is naturally strait, so by the evening, it was much more relaxed, and dare I say type 2-ish. 😉 See top photo.
PS I can’t seem to post in portrait format, if anyone has tips.
Thanks for the tips. I will keep practicing. I can do this!
Nicole, I need some help with the curling iron! I’m so curling iron challenged! I tried doing exactly what you showed here but my hair doesn’t come out in that nicely shaped curl. It kind of bends awkwardly and I have a big crease at the top! The curl will almost immediately straighten out, but the crease stays! Am I not putting it on high enough heat? Not holding it long enough? Do I have extremely curl resistant hair? Maybe another method would work better? Thanks 🙂
