  1. Wow that was insightful thanks Nicole I was ondering about the picture of the type 3 peekaboo hair colour where can I see it. Thanks good job.

  2. Great presentation! I just got my hair consultation back from Nicole and I highly recommend doing it. Hair is so important for successfully dressing your truth–it is always on you lol! This video just reinforces my intention to implement some if her fun ideas. Now I have some ideas for finding a stylist to help me. Lifestyle delivers again.

  3. Nicole, you are so supportive and positive and it’s very inspiring! I can relate to the woman asking about finding the best side of your face, I’m a 1/4, and your answer brought tears to my eyes. Thank you. <3 Your presentation here was so helpful, wonderful tips! Especially love the tip to curl your hair with your finger pre-diffuser, and talking to your hair, totally going to do that! So excited to try these out! xoxo

  4. I decided to try the hair consultation but am having trouble with the application. I have attached the pictures and completed the other information but when I press upload images and continue it kicks me back to the first page to start the process over. Any suggestions?

  5. To answer the question about the hair getting brassy, my hair used to do the same thing when I dyed it. Even worse, it would fade to a weird blonde color lighter than the hair color I started out with. I’ve opted instead to use a demo-permanent hair color. It does eventually fade, but it fades to whatever color I started out with, not that weird blonde. You definitely have to use a lighter demi-color though as it tends to come out two shades darker than what’s shown on the box, or at least that’s been my experience.

  6. Nice video. I moved about 6 months ago and with each new stylist I try, I say positive things, I am excited and sure that they are the one…yesterdays was not. I show them pictures, including ones from my consult with you, yet they still miss the mark. I will try more positive affirmations. On a positive note I am getting really good at working with what I feel are not supportive cuts!!

  7. Fantastic idea for a video series! Such an important subject and Nicole is so perfect for this…. Love the tips on taking photos of our great hair days and the hair consultation looks awesome! I do have a question: Is clarifying shampoo safe to use? I’m a type 2/1 with thin, curly hair and after a week I need to lighten up the weight and this type of shampoo seems to work well.

  8. This was wonderful!! I hope you keep doing it. I feel so lucky to have the best stylist in the world–my youngest sister. 🙂 I also have a very reasonable philosophy about hair: It will grow back! I love experimenting. About a month after starting DYT, I texted my sister and said, “I’m ready to cut my hair!” The next week, she cut off 10 inches!!! In October, we’re adding highlights and maybe a fun shock of purple. 🙂 Keep inspiring us, Nicole!!

  9. For the Type3 that wasn’t getting the results she wanted even though she used the Type3 terminology, and got “round brush” and therefore “round” styles, I want to suggest one tip that worked for me. I told my stylist the words to represent what I wanted, and wasn’t getting it either, and so I began adding terms of what I DON’T want. When she picked up the round brush I said to her “I don’t want the style to be __________, can you please not use that brush”, and “I hate when my hair curls in like this and is styled like that”. My stylist didn’t understand what I meant with what I wanted, but when she was doing the things I didn’t and I spoke up right in that moment, she finally got it.

    Good luck!
