More and more women want information on staying gray.
Women prefer gray hair for many reasons. Choosing not to color your hair as it turns gray is a really natural and more organic option.
Some women don’t color their hair because of health reasons; some women don’t like the chemicals. Others don’t want the maintenance of coloring consistently. Regardless of your reason, it’s important to pay attention to your cut and style in order to really honor your Type of beauty.
And in order to achieve the right cut and style there is one factor you need to consider.
As it turns gray, the texture of your hair changes.
A change in texture? What?!
Yes, it’s true. And you might find that the style you wore before going gray really worked easily but as soon as the texture changed, the style isn’t working as well. Now that you’re working with your gray hair, you’ll want to consider the new texture and possibly looking at other haircut and style options to support your new hair texture.
Let me show you how the cut and style in each of the following pictures really creates the perfect movement and allows the woman’s true beauty to shine through, as she chooses to wear her hair gray.
Type 1
She’s so cute! But look at the difference the haircut and style make! In the “before” photo, her hair was grown out and had very little shape. It didn’t have much volume and although the length isn’t long, the overall feel of the picture is heavy. With some texturizing, supportive hair product, and the right haircut it was easy to achieve a light and animated look, while still honoring her natural gray color!
Type 2
This is such a dramatic before-and-after! She looks amazing! I love seeing how her gray hair actually becomes a gorgeous color, once the length was cut off. Type 2 women can often wear a longer length of hair and look beautiful, however we see here that the length is not adding anything to her personal style. By cutting off significant length, she could achieve a more specific and detailed style to show off the excellent color. She also has a bit of wave in the “after” photo, which softens the style and creates a blended, beautiful feel. She is one beautiful woman!
Type 3
I love this before-and-after! Isn’t the difference amazing? Such awesome contrast! She, like many women her age, was wearing her hair soft and very blended. You can see just from these photos, how much the wrong cut was aging her. Once her cut and style became a little more edgy and textured, she really came forward and her gray hair didn’t age her like before. The shorter length adds more texture near her face and compliments the angles in her eyes.
Type 4
This gorgeous lady is in the process of allowing her hair go gray. Although her “before” photo was a nice style, it still felt incomplete. We created a defined line through the bottom length and gave a nice polished look to the overall style. In her “after” photo, she looks complete. She is stunning!
If you’re considering staying gray, be sure to choose the right cut and style to support your Type of beauty. This will prevent prematurely aging in your face and create a more authentic look.
Set the intention that your stylist will be successful in providing you with a fantastic cut and style so when you leave the salon, you’ll be saying, “I love the way my hair looks!”
