Are You Using This One Color to Your Advantage?

How to use your Type's Touchstone Color.

Did you know that your Type has one single color that can clear up all color questions?

It’s true! For each Type there is a single color that can be used as a reference to compare any color that you are questioning. I call this your Touchstone Color. This signature color will help you train your eye to see colors that are correct for you. It will even help you discover new colors to expand your wardrobe options.

(1:01) My Type 1 Expert, Marcy, originally taught this concept using her trusty go-to scarf. This trick allowed her to easily discover her best colors by seeing how the color of her scarf harmonized with them.

Your touchstone color will also help you to use your Style Guide as intended, and not simply as a color matching tool. As you use your Style Kit and your touchstone color to build a wardrobe true to your tints, tones, shades, or hues you’ll easily see and weed out the colors that don’t belong.

What is the Touchstone color for your Type and how do you use it?

  • (1:13) Type 1: This bright sunny color sheds new light on the topic.
  • (3:34) Type 2: This soft color is a gentle reminder that sweeps away all doubts.
  • (5:37) Type 3: This rich warm color will deepen your understanding and boost your confidence.
  • (8:14) Type 4: This regal color will refine your eye and polish your color skills.

Now that you’ve been in your experience of Dressing Your Truth for a time, I encourage you to go back through the color portion of your Beginner’s Guide. This second time around you’ll pick up on the nuances of color that you didn’t see the first time.

Let us know in the Lifestyle Facebook Group how this has helped you. I would love to see a photo of your Touchstone colors and hear how this has helped you weed out those things that are not quite right.
