  1. Thank you, Kalista, for mentioning skin tone! Language matters, and “nude” is not a color. After all, we come in a wide range of “nudes” – depending on our racial heritage and the huge range of resulting skin tones. I’d like to see all of our beautiful women acknowledged and supported in these offerings.

  2. To me, Kalista’s shoes are not nude, they are beige. I wouldn’t look at those shoes and think they match her skin tone. I own shoes that almost exactly match my skin tone and actually “disappear” and elongate my leg line. Kalista’s shoes don’t really do that–they are a definite different color (and any T4 would be bugged by that! Ha!).

  3. Happy birthday, Jaleah! It’s also my T1 daughter’s birthday today. Learner’s permit day for her. :0 There are a couple of awesome companies that specialize in nude shoes for all skin tones, for those T4’s out there. How great that we have that so readily available now!

  4. I notice a similarity in color between Anne’s and Kalista’s shoes. The cool undertone, in addition to matching Kalista’s skin tone, no doubt helps it look nice with T4 even though it’s off.

  5. So interesting that you guys delete comments that don’t say what you want them to. Do you do that on Facebook as well?

    1. Here are the guidelines my support team follows for deleting posts: If your comment is only a criticism that negates what we teach, yes, we delete them. If you just offer your opinion and claim it to be your opinion and your preference, it does not get deleted. Did you get a post deleted?

      1. Yes I did have a post deleted. I wrote a comment on this thread offering my opinion that Kalista’s “nude” shoes looked beige to me, not nude (which should match skin tone). If that is considered a comment that “is only a criticism that negates what we teach”, then it appears that any slight disagreement is not countenanced. I have been a Lifestyle member for years, and I choose to not “clearly identify” myself for very valid personal reasons. I assumed that as I had accessed this post through Lifestyle (which I have paid for) that it would be obvious that I wouldn’t be someone who wanted to bash the content!!

        1. Thanks for sharing. I’ll make sure my support team pays a little more attention to where the comments are being posted. We appreciate your investment in Lifestyle. Have you tried the nude shoe option? Kalista’s shoes matched her skin tone very closely in real life. I thought she looked great in the entire outfit. Monitors make it tricky for colors to be depicted accurately.

          1. I’ve worn nude shoes since I was a teenager! Very useful. But I like them to match not only my skin tone, but also the value (darkness/lightness) so that they seem to be just an extension of the leg line. Kalista’s were the right tone, but the value was so much lighter that they looked more like a separate color than as nude to me. But we all get to choose what we like!

  6. Happy Birthday Jaleah! Even your birthday represent you being a type one –for all the fun at summertime!

  7. I confess, I never did give up my nude heels. Sometimes black, silver, or a matching hue just felt like too much. Nice to see it validated here though; this makes sense.

  8. Carol, I love the shoes you’re wearing in this video! What brand are they? They are yummy and look comfortable!

  9. Kalista’s nude shoes totally don’t match her foot’s skin tone so I’m getting just a bit confused by the official explanation…

    1. The goal was not to have an exact match, but to create a look that you don’t notice the shoe in the entire outfit as you look at Kalista as a whole. But, it would be very Type 4 to zero in on the shoe, due to the content and instruction. See the bigger picture and you will see that her shoes are not standing out

  10. First, I want to wish Jaleah a happy belated birthday. June the 18th was my fathers birthday, so hearing about your shared birthday made me smile. I believe he was also a type 1. I also wanted to comment on how much I loved Carol’s shoes in this video. While not a true nude, They also disappear into her outfit giving a nude-like effect.
