  1. Good ideas but most tips won’t work for Afro hair. I wish DYT would address more this issue for people that have Afro hair. For example most hats won’t stay on Afro hair, also not everyone has long hair. Please consider different hair lengths and hair types. Thank you.

  2. So fun! I love the hat idea! 🙂 Do you have any tips for straight hair as well? I feel like I have to fight my hair’s natural hair texture every day, because I don’t usually have time to curl it (the curl doesn’t stay in very long anyway – especially when it rains/snows), and all the type 1 examples seem to have that curly/wavy animated hair that takes so much time and effort for us straighties to achieve on a regular basis. Thanks! 😀

  3. I love watching Nicole. She’s so cute, animated, and fun. My main take-away – slouch hat pinned to the back of the head. Great idea for accessorizing with a hat, that doesn’t mess up my hair too much.

  4. i loved the video, very helpful and lots of good ideas! I tried the braided look immediately and it works well. I was reminded about the idea of ‘washing the front section only’. I used to do this and it really works. Thanks Nicole.

  5. Thanks, Nicole! You already know I think you are the best, and your videos are creative, helpful and super smart.

Thanks to everyonefor all the work for Lifetstyle. It really is an amazing resource!

  6. The front braid and top knot are great for the gym! I don’t look good in a pony tail so these styles are a good alternative. Nicole, you are a breath of fresh air!

  7. Nichole these are awesome since I have short chin length hair and almost all of these are perfect for getting my bangs out of my face <3
My go to is the top knot my hubby makes fun of my little puffy but it works for me 😀

  8. I need to try the hat pinned to the back. I have a low part in the back and so this will help. Thank you for your upbeat, hopeful energy. It makes me think I can maybe do some of this. Ha ha : )

  9. Wonderful ideas! Thank you, Nicole! When watching these tutorials, I wish I had long hair again 😉

  10. I love all of these tips and Nicole is just adorable! Are there any quick tips for curly hair? The braiding doesn’t really work on my fine curly hair.

  11. I am now officially in love with the wash-and-blow-dry-the-bangs. as you can see in my pic, I have a cowlick that gives me a defined “swoop,” and am growing them out to try to soften that a bit (T1, S4 here) The back-and-forth blow dry has made SUCH a difference! <3
