  1. DYT makeup is my favorite! The pigment and texture of the eyeshadow is the best. It took me awhile to start using a lighter application of your blush because the pigment is so intense but I love it now that I’ve got the application down.

  2. I am very picky about makeup and how it performs, and I have to say that DYT makeup really is better quality than I expected. If you’re unsure, start with a lipgloss and/or the mascara. The formulas hold up very well.

  3. I like the fat eyeliner pencil even though it is not in the store at this time, I do hope it comes back! It creates the perfect smudge! Great video!

  4. I’m a makeup snob and I used to work for Clinique. I have to say the DYT makeup is excellent. I was very skeptical, but it is really hard to find T1 colors for eye shadow that aren’t muddy or grey, so I tried DYT. The colors are great and the quality is terrific. I have sensitive skin and have had no problem with DYT. I’ve been very happy with the makeup products I have purchased from the store!

  5. Has anyone tried the foundations or concealers? Does any of it make your skin break out? Is it free of toxic stuff that’s in most drugstore brands?

    1. Hi Sarah, please read Christine’s comment in the thread above. She struggled with makeup allergies for a long time and DYT Makeup works great for her.

  6. Wish DYT had an European distribution centre, customs and taxes double the price in the country I live in.

  7. I bought a purse large enough to carry my makeup essentials everywhere so I can avoid that very situation you described. Thanks for sharing.

  8. I just got home from a camping trip that I did not take any make-up on. I could not find my makeup bag and was concerned that I lost it on my vacation right before the camping trip. I went from one vacation to anther so anything was possible!! I was rather in a panic and told my husband that it would cost a couple of hundred dollars to replace it all. He thought I was nuts because it was just a small cosmetic bag with a minimal amount of stuff. The good news is that I had left my bag in my locker at the gym. Except for a couple of brushes and my oil control powder the rest of my products are all from DYT. I just priced what it would take to replace everything and it came to $221.61. That amount doesn’t even phase me because I know the products are awesome and last forever. Of course I did not originally pay that much because I wait for sales and lifestyle discounts. Also I have purchased things over time. But, if I hadn’t found my make-up I would have repurchased DYT products in a heart beat.

  9. I love the sensitive navy mascara! It’s the first mascara I’ve used that doesn’t bother my eyes!

  10. Are DYT cosmetics made from natural, organic products? I will not put anything on my body I would not personally ingest.

    1. Thank you for your question about Dressing Your Truth® Makeup products. This topic has been one of much consideration for us, as we desire to provide our customers with the best information for your health and well-being. We do include ‘gluten-free’ in the product descriptions of the items that are gluten free. Please be aware that, with all of our products, they are not manufactured in a gluten-free only establishment, Cross-contamination is highly unlikely, but not a certainty. The most specific information can be found in the ingredients listed below the description of each makeup product, in the blue click-able link “Makeup Ingredients.” Also, none of our makeup products are tested on animals.

    2. Hi Rina, no they are not organic. Some of the items are “mineral” makeup and that is stated in the product descriptions.

  11. I have to say that I agree about the pigmentation in the blushes and eye-shadows sold in the drugstore. DYT would probably be better, and I’ve been thinking about taking the plunge and spending the money for a while now. However, there are good options of foundations and face powder if you know how to match to your skin color. Personally, I use Maybelline whipped mouse or gel foundation, which prices for $6.79 for an ounce vs. 32.97 for DYT Mineral Liquid Powder or $21.97 for Perfect Finish Liquid Foundation (of the same quantity), and Physician’s Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Translucent Face Powder for $11.59 (at most) for 9 g of product vs. $24.97 for 8.4 g of DYT Two-Way Foundation . I am very happy with the foundation that I use, so I feel no need to look elsewhere for face coverage, but if DYT sold sample size products for comprable prices, I would probably try DYT foundation to compare the quality. Unfortunately, I do not have that option, so I will continue using the makeup I am happy with.

    1. For many of us Type 3 women who need more coverage, the drugstore foundations just don’t do the job! Glad you are happy with your choices. I hope you will give our foundation a try, it’s really worth the investment as it last a long time.

  12. Must be nice to be able to afford DYT makeup prices. . . .It’s just too much money for me, and drug store makeup has worked fine for me for 25+ years. (Looking at comments, clearly I’m the minority here, and that’s ok with me)

    1. From my experience, it’s worth the extra investment. The drugstore makeup was such a poor quality and our makeup lasts a very long time, so in the long run, the value for me is in our makeup. As far as being able to afford it, I invite you to change your belief to “I can afford what I really want in life.” We don’t manifest what we want, we manifest what we believe. Glad you are happy with your choices.

    2. In my experience, DYT make-up lasts much longer and I can totally feel the difference in quality on my skin. I apply make-up every day, and my foundation has lasted almost a year. Even if you just try the foundation, you will notice the difference. Get it during a sale, and that’s even better.
I don’t even have a job, but I but DYT make-up because it is a better value for my money. Besides, I deserve it.

  13. All my life I have had severe make-up allergies. I only wore make-up on special occasions. My eyes would tear up and itch, no matter which brand I chose. I could somewhat get away with Clinique brand make-up when I was in high school, but as I got older even that wouldn’t last for more than a couple hours. It was torture. So for many years I didn’t wear any make-up at all. When I joined DYT in 2012, I made all the changes necessary to live and dress in my T3 nature, except wearing make-up. After two years of DYT, I saw a video where Carol said, you are not fully dressing your truth unless you commit to all aspects of the program. Make-up included. She also stated that the best way to know if you are wearing the correct color make-up for your Type, is to purchase from the DYT store. I had invested so much of myself into this program, that I felt I was cheating myself if I didn’t do all aspects of dressing my truth. I used the easy charts for determining blush and brow powder shades. I purchased one of each item, sure that my allergies would kick up again. Lo and behold, I have been wearing DYT make-up ever since and have not had any problem at all with allergies. I wear it every day and I love it.

I do have one question for Carol or Anna K. I am 51 and a T3. I have the 2 way foundation and always apply it dry. Is there a better option for my T3 skin? Is it just personal preference? How does the 2 way compare to the foundation that Carol uses now? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    1. Hi Christine, I use our mineral liquid powder foundation and love it, it has more coverage than the 2 way.

      1. Thank you for responding so quickly. Now I can place my order with confidence. I must say, the link to help select foundation and brow powder color is amazing. I’ve had great success determining the correct shades for me. Thank you for making on-line purchasing easy.

    2. Hi! I’m so happy that your allergies are better and can wear our makeup. I love makeup! I’ve always found it a fun creative way to express and enhance myself. I would suggest using the the two way foundation wet. It’s super easy, you just wet the sponge and apply. We also carry the “perfect finish liquid foundation” that has a medium coverage. I like this one because it has aloe in it and is very soothing. Just make sure you use a beauty blender to apply it. A damp beauty blender can make magic on your face with this foundation. When I do Carols makeup, I have and do use all our makeup products. What I use usually depends on what we are doing. I know Carol uses the two way everyday. Thanks for your comments, I hope this answers your question. Let us know if you have any more.

      Thanks again
      Anna K

      1. Thank you for your quick response. I appreciate all of your make-up tips. I love that they are videos, so I can refer back to them often. I am truly grateful for your insight and expertise and willingness to share.

      2. Anna K, this may seem like a silly question, but what do you mean by “medium coverage”? I’ve not heard that expression before.

        1. Hi Christine!
Not silly at all. There are all types of coverage. Coverage is how much your own skin shows through. A light weight coverage would be sheer like a tinted moisturizer. Our BB cream is a light weight. This type of foundation helps to even out the skin tones. The next most common is light- medium coverage which would be a moisturizing liquid foundation. Like our mineral liquid powder and our perfect liquid foundation. Most people like this weight. often times you can layer this foundation to find a coverage that people are happy with. This one does a good job of covering small blemishes and redness. The full coverage is one that we don’t carry. A full coverage foundation (we usually don’t say heavy weight for some reason) would cover lager blemishes or birthmarks like wine ports. Its pretty heavy duty stuff. You wouldn’t even see a freckle or mole. I hope this helps. Let me know if I can answer anything else for you. I love to talk about makeup!!

          Thanks,
          Anna K

  14. I absolutely LOVE the DYT makeup line as well as the haircare products. I’m a makeup snob and buy really expensive department store brands and DYT is on par with those brands and in some respects better because it matches my coloring and helps me to live my truth better. The only products I was disappointed with was the mascara. It just isn’t volumizing enough for me and I don’t like the watery consistency. Outside of mascara the entire line is my holy grail!

  15. I’m really interested in purchasing the foundation but I don’t know which one to choose between the 3 options. I’m a type 2 what do you use Anne?

  16. I have been using the DYT blushes for 5 years now and LOVE IT!!! I’ve tried the eye shadows in the past year and now I am totally sold on them as well. I just can’t return to drugstore makeup. The quality of DYT is fantastic and it lasts forever.
