Yay! Thank you for supporting us straight-haired ladies with this video! I prefer to wear my hair with its natural straight texture rather than curl it, even though curls are the “stereotypical” t2 hair…this is great! I love the third t2 hair picture you used. I’m going to ask my hairstylist for a similar cut.
Hooray!!! You go girl:)
Great video!! As a type 1 with straight, fine, thick hair, the DYT hair products have been amazing!! The mousse, root booster and texture spray are my favorites for keeping volume in my chin-length bob! I’d like to try the hair repair as a heat protectant, but am wondering if that might weigh it down too much. I like the hair taffy too and I only need a tiny bit of it since it goes a looong way. And all of the products smell so good!
Nicole- you seriously look like an angel! So pretty and bright! Thank you for sharing your hair wisdom with us, it’s so helpful! 🙂
Katie, I think that each of those products are fantastic and wonderful for you to use. The only product to use in moderation would be the Texture Spray. This goes a long way and you only need to use a little bit. I would say the biggest factor in “weighing the hair down” is if your layers are too heavy and long. Thank you for your sweet compliment:) Love ya!
Thank you for this video! I am a 2/4 with thick straight hair and I love all the examples you showed: specially the blonde/red haired one. I love my hair and never have made drastic changes to it: always the same style, with lenght variations but I always prefer it long 🙂
I have a question for you Nicole – when you use photo examples do you choose true to type photos? An example would be if you are showing type 1 hair is the hair model also type 1?
I have often wondered this as well.
Kathy, thanks for your question:) I’ve answered the question above in Lora’s reply thread:)
Lora, thanks so much for your question:) No, the models are often not true to type. It’s sometimes tricky just to find an example of something I’m trying to explain, let alone get the correct facial profile. We’ve chosen just to highlight the hair in each of the videos, rather than the “woman.” Hope this is helpful:)
This is cool and timely, since I was just thinking about this. Thank you <3
This helps me with my type 1girls because both have straight hair. One thick and ond fine thin.
Love this video! I prefer my hair straight and it looks like I’ve been doing it true to my type (2/1 I believe) with softened layers and bangs. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/832496be5419e770d3691d52c3d7230bbe1f13e09e01097038add2d35d9164e5.jpg
Gorgeous!
I really appreciate the examples you gave specifically of T4 straight Hair. I previously thought type 4 hair needs to be completely sleek and shiny with no strays and I find that very hard to achieve! I am glad to know it can still be a sleek style without having every hair in place.
Type 2 here. 🙂 Never knew why I didn’t like my hair completely straight! Now that I have this info, loving the detailed soft layers showing through. This is the only way I like my hair straight!
