  1. Thanks for showing us Jaleah! And yay! I got the ‘wrong’ colors right :-), although I was a bit confused by the yellow on the dress. It looks pretty bold and at first I wondered if it was t4.

  2. Thank you for another great lesson! I agree with Jeanine about the polkadots in the dress. They do look like type 4 yellow to me, but maybe the white in the dress tones it down enough??? Or maybe the video doesn’t quite show the difference in the yellows?
The type 2 yellow was a good lesson. I didn’t know they could wear yellow!

  3. Thanks, Jaleah! I have a hard time separating T1 yellow and T4 yellow. The dress kind of confused me a bit. Everything about it was saying T1, except the color, which I saw as a T4. Maybe it was my monitor. Pinks, especially the darker tints, are another area where I get T1 and T4 confused. I’d love to have a video on pink. These are very helpful. Thanks for making them!

  4. These are such great videos; holding up the color cards for the different types is especially useful because even if the video/our monitor shifts the colors a bit, we still see what harmonizes and what contrasts. (Next, please, purples and pinks. And browns/creams/neutrals.) 🙂

  5. Yellow is one of my favorite colors, especially to wear! Thanks for showing all the options!

  6. Excellent demonstration of getting the right yellow. I really like the way you incorporated the wrong yellows from all 3 other types, it makes the Type 1 yellow that much more clear and precise to the eye.

  7. Love that T1 can wear darker yellows, I was not sure about that. For my entire life, pale yellows have made me look sick, so I have usually worn the type 4 yellows. Now that I am trying to stay true to my nature, you helped show me that I have a yellow I can wear! Thanks!

    1. I know exactly what you mean! I love yellow but people would always ask me if I am feeling okay whenever I wore it!

  8. Totally picked all 3 that were not Type 1 yellows! I, too, have loved yellow since I was a little girl! Woohoo for sunshiny yellow!!

  9. Ok, so my whole life, I’ve been told I can’t wear yellow. As a result, I never even looked at yellow clothes when i went shopping. When I learned that yellow is sort of a signature color for Type 1s, I was really bummed. But, two days ago, I went shopping (end-of-season clearance is the bomb!), and I tried on some yellow tops. And I LOVED THEM!!! I bought two. I’m wearing one at work now, and I’ve gotten tons of compliments. Several people have said, “You look so sunshiny and happy!” I do! Because I am!!!! I’ve been dressing my truth for just 2 weeks, and it’s amazing.

  10. I never liked how yellow looked on me before, but now I think it was because I was wearing type2 makeup and type4 hair color with it.

  11. Yes, the 2,3,&4 jumped out at me as being distinctly out of place with the T1 yellows! Yeah!!! progress! I have previously only found one yellow I though I could wear…a medium ish clear, light/bright one. Now I will look at some others to see if I like them.
After reading some of the comments, I see I was not alone in having difficulty with finding a yellow that looked “right”. (I have also been told for most of my life to stay away from brighter colors because I am too heavy and should mostly wear darker colors so I would look smaller.
