  1. Nicole, I love your hair in this video! I’d love to see the back! I grew out a pixie and found the toughest spots to be the initial shaggy phase and getting past the shoulder. I think I mostly just tried to style it with hair accessories to hide some spots, and product to get it to lay the way I wanted. I am finally at a length I love and feel best in my long hair. Pixies are so fun and cute, but I prefer myself with hair at least below my shoulders, it’s more my personality and style! I’m a 2/3.

  2. Thank you so much for this video! I have had a pixie for about 3 years and really like the way it looks on me, but am ready for a change. I have been going back and forth between putting up with growing it out or just shaving it (I’m a 4/3). I am currently in a “mullet” phase. My take away? Trim the mullet!!! I knew something was wrong…

  3. You are a lifesaver…or a hairsaver! I have chopped is several times because I just couldn’t deal with the awkwardness of it all. The shaggy before it’s long enough for a ponytail. Argh!

  4. For me, with really curly hair, keeping the nape trimmed short made my growing out hair look like a puff ball – completely round. To get through this stage, a headband or a scarf gave my hair some shape and definition; giving it the shape of an updo. As it grows out more, am looking for the lion’s mane look.

    1. 2/3: Thanks, Karen. I have curly hair too and am thinking of getting it cut off to this pixie in order to cut out the old color (which is now turning warm). Pre-DYT I had a pixie and when I grew it out it was a puff ball as well. I’m hoping now that I know my T2 keywords I can incorporate them into my hairstyle during the growing out phase. It’s good to hear about your headband/scarf trick! I will keep that in mind. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/750839d764cdda1479f3a9006aa9c8fef55a79a9dbe84ff2640abce1915bd163.jpg

        1. Thanks, Karen! I did cut and it and I think it turned out well! Now for the growing out phase… (:
