  1. OMG! You took 20 years off her life! The hair! The colors! Wow! Wow! Wow! I so love it when non-T2 women shake off those T2 colors which always look so drab on them.

  2. Unbelievably amazing makeover! Her eyes are what you notice first now, they are gorgeous! Her hair is really, really pretty too and the new style totally suits her. I’m glad she kept the grey. One of the best makeovers yet!

  3. Gorgeous! This is the most spectacular DYT makeover I’ve seen. Please, more makeovers where the ladies keep their natural silver / gray / white hair!

  4. She doesn’t look like the same woman! That is an amazing transformation, really great. Keep rocking it Susan 🙂

  5. Beautiful. So glad she kept her gray hair. Makes me wish I was a T3. This is one of my favorite makeovers. She looked older and mousy in the before video. I wish I could see her family’s reaction to the change?

  6. Just fabulous! What a wonderful new look for Susan! I agree that this is one of the most dramatic makeovers you have done so far. Thank you for posting these!

  7. wonderful. And so nice to see her in both the jewel tones and the grey hair.
i am sitting here at the computer wearing the same necklace! Not sure if she is 3/1 but it’s a great outfits for 3/1 i think it great example for a 3/1 with the more random 3 necklace and those vibrant shades.

  8. Wow! This is one of the best makeovers! She went from frumpy to hot! And she looks at least ten pounds lighter!

  9. Susan, you look dynamic and full of life!!! The real you has been brought forward. Love, love, love that you kept your gray hair. (A request to the DYT Team — As someone with gray hair who is allergic to hair color products, I would greatly appreciate more gray hair makeovers.)

  10. You guys knocked this one out of the park. Her hair makes her beautiful, exotic features come forward. You look great, Susan! Enjoy!

  11. Absolutely extraordinary! What I realized is that Carol gives women the “permission” and encouragement for self-care. I think while growing up, many of us were (unconsciously?) taught that to focus on our appearance was vain, conceited, selfish…But Carol shows us that it’s the opposite! Taking care of ourselves is a GIFT we give to ourselves, each other and the world. Thank you!!

  12. Was this necklace sold in the DYT store? I looked and don’t see it now. 🙁 I just ordered that sweater and Hot T to match, though! 🙂

    1. Hi Jodi, the necklace was sold in the DYT store, but unfortunately it’s now sold out. We filmed this back in August. I’m glad you were able to get the sweater! Thanks for watching.

  13. Susan, you look beautiful! I relate to you, trying to type myself. Think I’m a 3, but health challenges the last 5 years have definitely put out the fire I used to have. I do
Keep my hair short, however, and now intend to stop getting rid of all my ‘colorful’ clothes. Thank you, Carol, for your inspiration. You have created a masterpiece with Susan.

  14. Wow. Your team did not follow your own color recommendations for a Type 3! I have noticed this on other videos and in your store, and I have to comment. That peacock top is not the same shade of peacock as you have on your color cards—not at all—and it makes her skin look sickly. And nowhere is there a recommendation for the hot fuchsia of the pants. That same color used in the makeup, makes her eyes look pink and red. Ugh! I have benefited so much from your courses and book, that it makes me sad to see you falling away from your own teaching about a Type 3. It seems to me that the fashion industry ignores our color palette more than any other; that is no reason to give up on the palette. Your team did a great job with the haircut and jewelry shapes. Susan does look much younger and more vibrant. But, please, please return to a more careful adherence to the colors that truly look good for a Type 3.

    1. I was actually curious about her colors too and it made me doubt my understanding of the type 3 colors. Could someone from the DYT comment?

    2. These colors are indeed Type 3. Your color card is a guide, not a color matching tool. What it makes a Type 3 color is the mixture of black in a pure color, it can have from one drop of black to an insane amount of black mixed to it. At the end the color looks rich, and somehow dirty.

    3. Thanks for caring enough to make a comment. Let me reassure you that these are absolutely Type 3 colors as Carol Liska shared in her reply. We definitely have been able to show a lot more variety of color since we launched my new website and increased our DYT content production this year. I encourage you to join Lifestyle if you are not already a member as we offer color tutorials for members to add to their learning of each Types color palettes.

      1. I love how you’ve branched out with the colors. I dismissed being a type three for several years because I wasn’t drawn to the T3 colors I was seeing most often. When I started noticing the shocking pinks and deep vibrant reds and blues I recognized these colors in the clothes I wore as a teen. I knew they were my best colors based on the reactions of friends and familyand how I felt in them! I don’t ever have to wear animal print or mustard and that’s fine, now that I know there are so many gorgeous T3 colors to choose from! Susan looks amazing and I’m glad she kept her gray. I don’t color my hair because I don’t want to deal with the upkeep. I can’t be bothered with sitting in a chair that long unless I know it’s something that can grow out and stay natural looking.

    4. Color is not reproduced accurately on our electronic devices. You cannot accurately judge colors looking at them that way.

  15. Susan, you looked beautiful and healthy before, but now you look amazingly, gorgeously awesome!!!! Holy cow, wow! What a great look :).

  16. I, too, have questions about the colors chosen. Susan looks absolutely wonderful in the jewel tones with her gray hair, but honestly, I thought clear tones like that (especially the fuschia) were type 4 colors. Susan’s face coloring plus her hair and eyes look Type 4 to me, too, though her facial features are DEFINITELY type 3. I have the same dichotomy (though not gray haired): type 3 facial structure (and personality!) yet looking better in what I thought were Type 4 colors and makeup (had been pegged a “winter” years ago). Would love more clarification on this, but whatever the label, Susan looks great!

    1. Are you a Lifestyle Member and course owner neme? The color tutorials we publish in Lifestyle teach how small of a difference there can be with some colors from Type to Type, but they are different. If you’re looking for more support and learning about each Types color palettes I recommend you join Lifestyle. Susan would not look as good as she does in her after if we had put any other Types colors on her. There is a huge range within each Types colors, you just need to understand the basic formula that is the base of that range, which we delve in to further in our Lifestyle content. Thanks for your comment.

  17. Your eyes, Susan!!!! Now we see YOU. If the eyes are truly the window to the soul, it makes so much sense that the eyes are what come alive when dressing one’s truth. Shazam!!

  18. Wow, I loved the transformation and especially love the color of those pants and that cool necklace. I can’t get over the difference just the haircut made! I am trying to find a stylist to implement the recommendations from my hair consultation. Unfortunately, the first stylist who gave me a perm did not know how to give me the look that I wanted and I’m feeling discouraged and really afraid to let anyone else try to fix it. This makeover with the gray hair is just spectacular.

  19. Susan, I so enjoyed your process. A dynamic, swift dive in to expressing your true self. Love your hair and how your eyes and face light up. You look amazing! Rockin’ it!

  20. Can a t4/1 wear grey hair? I have darker brown hair, natural, and getting a few grey hairs that I’ve plucked. I always thought I would keep my hair natural but the bright grey hairs next to the darker brown scares me. Wondering how others do it.

    1. Hey Kelley, I just came out with a Lifestyle hair video entitled, “How to transition to gray hair: Tips for all 4 energy types,” talking about how each type can transition best to their natural gray color:) This might be worth looking into for you. Yes, all types can wear gray hair, as long as the cut and style are true to type:) Excited for you!
