  1. I appreciate how thorough this video is! Thank you for all of the type specific tips. What is the difference between using hair repair and the hydrating styling lotion? I remember Nicole did a video on how to use the hair repair to reduce frizziness in a similar manner.

    1. From my experience with both products I’d say the difference is that the Hair Repair soaks into the hair to hydrate and smooth while the smoothing polish is more of a coating to smooth and add shine. I really like the hair repair for the ends of my hair and crown of my head, while the Smoothing Polish I like to use right at my roots around my hair line. If you’re deciding which to purchase I’d say go with the hair repair as it is more versatile.

  2. You rock Jaleah at those braiding techniques! you make it look like a breeze ~
Good tip about pulling backwards while braiding, that is something I think I have overlooked often.

  3. Thank you so much for this. I am T4 who has never braided hair and have even messed up trying the twist before. My hair is in a pixie now, but when I was younger with waist-length hair, other people did my braids for me. Now I have a T3 daughter who’s hair is always a mess and hanging down in her face. But with her T3 energy, she never wants to sit still long enough for me to practice on her. These look easy and quick enough that maybe we can both get through it. 🙂

  4. This tutorial showed up at the perfect time! My hair is just long enough to be able to do this. After having pixie-length hair the majority of my teens and 20s, I was kind of at a loss for what to do with my hair (now down to my shoulders) on days 2 and 3. THANK YOU, Jaleah! Love your bright energy!

  5. Jaleah thank you so much for the neat tip on the correct way to use a bobby pin. I’ve never been a fan of bobby pins cause they were always falling out; I had no idea I was using them back to front. Brilliant!
