How to Tune In When You Just Want to Go! Q&A with the Experts

You’re a busy “get it done” kind of lady. We get you!

That’s why you may have missed the live broadcast of Q&A with the Experts. Sarah and Anna K always look forward to supporting you during this hour, and we love supporting you when it’s done by sharing the recording so that you can watch it again and again!

So go grab your load of laundry and fold it (we know you’re great at multi-tasking) while you catch up on this awesome event. Here are just a few of the topics that were covered:

  • Did Sarah think like a Type 3 when she was living as a Type 2? Do you always think true to your nature?
  • What to do when you’re 36, going gray, and a little embarrassed about it. Can you go gray and stay Type 3?
  • How to handle being part of a wedding where the dress makes you feel washed out.
  • Are you still a Type 3 if you have a softer voice and are not athletically inclined?
  • Tips on raising two Type 3 children.
  • How to set your expectations for the postpartum season when you’ll have to slow down more. (Anna K’s honest reflection of this time of her life just might make you cry…)
  • Plus beauty tips on making your thin lips look more full and how to wear a ponytail as a Type 3.

Sarah and Anna K also discuss wellness for the mind and soul as they touch on the importance of meditation (even when it feels boring!) and tuning into your body and honoring the need for self-care when illness strikes.

What was your biggest “aha” moment? Share it in a comment so your fellow Type 3 sisters can learn with you!

  1. Concerning meditation. I find knitting to be a great way to reflect on things while still accomplishing something. For a meditative experience I knit something simple and repetitive. I call it meditation for antsy people. (I also do mantra mediation for about 5 minutes a day–even that is hard!)

    1. My way of meditating is to stretch at night right before bed. I get completely ready to sleep, light a vanilla candle, turn out the lights, and do my 20 minute routine in silence in the dark. Two birds with one stone. Definitely works better for me than trying to sit still and ignore every body part that decides to mess with my mind and itch for the duration!

  2. This is so helpful. I too had post partum after having my daughter. As soon as the sun went down until the sun cam up. It was horrible. Yes it was fast but it was the longest night of my life and the ONLY thing that grounded me that whole night was nursing my baby. I even walked down to see my baby and I got sent back to my room and I was mad. I told the new nurse in the morning and she told me everything I was dealing with was post partum. I ended up calling my sister in law later and apologize for not believing post partum was real. I had one night, she deals with it for 6month plus after having a baby. Having dyt would have saved my sanity that night, I just needed to do something cause sleep wasn’t happening. So thank you for sharing Anna Kay I always knew I connected with you but dang, I really connect with you.
Also the gray hair question helped me too. I thought so much work and money, but I love my hair and what I do and can’t see myself letting myself embrace the gray. Like you all I can see myself 90 or 100+ walking in to get my hair colored. LOL! Unless it was white even dirty white I might let it go then. Maybe. LOL!

  3. Thanks for another great video. I was just starting to question everything all over again. A panic feeling that I’m not really a T3. OMG what have I done now!!!! Then I listen to you two and you keep it real and put everything in perspective. Thanks for the advice about secondaries. The answer will present itself when the time is right. I have a small head like AnnaK. I actually just purchased an Under Armour Youth sized hat. It doesn’t cover my ears but at least it fits in my head without wobbling all over.

  4. I am so so sorry I can’t be at the I Love My Life event. I will be loving my life by doing the half marathon at the Paris Disneyland. Anything else I might have cancelled to attend. But Europe, Mickey, three girlfriends, three weeks… Hopefully your event will be successful and there will be other opportunities in the future.

    1. Good luck Mary, that is something I might miss it for too! You’re a Type 3 for sure – you are going to Euro Disney to run a 1/2 marathon!! Which Type does that? Our Type!!

  5. Like Sarah I got hit in the face with a baseball when I was a back catcher (with mask up temporarily) in public school. I was so worried that my Mom would make me stop playing and that my teammates would be angry because it was a championship game. I went to the bathroom, wetted and rolled up some paper toweling, and shoved the pieces up my nose to stop the bleeding so I could finish the game and so no one would find out. Crazy, I know!

  6. I totally tell my son when I am about the get angry! It works well for his t4 energy too because he knows what to expect! lol!

  7. Anna K. that was the best advice to the new mom. I too had very bad post-partum after both my pregnancies, but I was completely unaware for my first. I am 3/4. I remember being so clear that the biggest problem for me was that although I was exhausted and doing a lot – NOTHING was getting done. I remember telling my husband that I just felt so unproductive. I went from a working woman who could manage so many things, to a stay at home mom of a baby I could not for the life of me make happy! I even started making lists of everything I did in a day to make myself “see” the totality of all I accomplished even if I still had a colicky baby. For my second son I was a bit more prepared in that I caught the depression earlier on. I totally agree that if I had known my nature I would have managed those feelings better, and I too, wish so badly I could go back and hit “redo!” Thank you for that heartfelt and sincere sharing – new mommies really need that!

  8. I’ve never questioned what type I am, I knew after going through the program that I am a 3/2. Having a type 2/4 Mom I was constantly shushed and told that lady like behavior was reserved and quiet. Quiet wasn’t an ability I possessed as a child. I will be 60 this year so women’s roles have changed dramatically over my lifetime. I’m grateful for “Dressing Your Truth” and all of Carol’s research and hard work. For the last few years of dressing my truth it has been wonderful to be authentically myself and not wondering why I couldn’t be more elegant and reserved like my beautiful mother. The picture of me, that needs to changed, does not reflect my wild curly hair but the me that was trying to conform to what I thought a woman of a certain age should look like ! Hopefully the next time I post I will have updated my picture, that’s 3 years old, to reflect my true dynamic nature ! Thank you Carol for setting this type 3 FREE !

  9. Anna K. you are so brave for speaking up about your experience… I got teary and wanted to hold your hand or hug you. You both ladies are beautiful and brave 🙂
